Listed Building Consent Applications
Conservation Areas cover large parts of Edinburgh, and there are over 4500 Listed Buildings with 450 Category A. Replacing your windows or installing double glazing to the existing requires Listed Building Consent (LBC).
Sash Window Surveys Edinburgh specialise in Listed Building Consent Applications and can handle submissions, as an agent, on your behalf. After surveying your windows, we assemble a package of documents to send to the Council, uploading them to the Planning Portal. We then handle all communication with the Council to help you gain permission.
We are versed in the latest Council Guidance for Edinburgh and the surrounding Local Authorities. Guidance and the interpretation of Official Policy can vary between Council Areas, and we tailor our Proposals to suit based on previous experience.
If the process runs smoothly, it can take up to ten weeks for a decision to come through, and assuming the application is successful, you have three years to carry out the work. Due to these time scales, we recommend submitting applications early so that consent is “in place” before confirming work with installers.
